We are looking to grow our project delivery team and recruit a Site Engineer to cover projects across our East Midlands area (this runs from Wolverhampton to Lincolnshire and from Warwick to Peterborough). The successful candidate will carry out engineering duties across multiple projects accurately, demonstrating the highest health and safety standards, and have commercial awareness to ensure work is carried out within budget.
The key responsibilities are:
* Monitor and check accuracy of supply chain partners setting out
* Review works in progress and completed.
* Report any tolerancing issues to the site team.
* Contribute towards the package quality plans.
* Work with the site team to identify focus for future visits.
* Upholding our HSE standards and reporting any issues to the site team.
* Ensuring we comply to the design drawings and specifications, reporting back to the site team via survey output drawings.
* Upload any site survey to relevant systems such as 4projects and SharePoint.
* Practical construction experience delivering projects, supporting engineering control, quality assurance, and digital construction workflows.
* Strong experience in setting out and engineering control for structural frames, groundworks, precast installation, holding down bolts and steel reinforcing.
* Experienced in steel frame setting out, bolt positioning, and verification surveys to confirm construction accuracy.
* Experience in site quality inspections and checks to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and construction standards.
* Experience in working closely with architects, designers, site managers, subcontractors, and site operatives to resolve technical issues during daily construction activities.
* Proactively identify and solve construction issues before work commences, preventing delays and rework on site.
* Ability to assist the commercial team by providing survey verification and technical support when assessing subcontractor claims and payment applications.
* Temporary Works Supervisor certificate.
* Experience in survey analysis and reporting using 3D survey software, producing accurate reports to support engineering and commercial decisions.
* Good understanding of a Common Data Environment (CDE) for managing drawings, inspections, issues, and site documentation, Dalux experience preferred.
* Experienced in the use of HP site printing solutions.
* Perform as-built surveys to verify constructed works against design drawings, ensuring tolerances and levels meet project specifications.
* Experience in developing and implementing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure work stages are inspected, tested, and approved before progressing.
* Carrying out quality inspections in accordance with ITP requirements, including recording results and closing inspection records.
Essential Criteria
Good demonstrable standard of written and spoken English.
Good standard of Microsoft programmes and AutoCAD
Proficient in the use of modern surveying and setting out instrumentation.
Appropriate CSCS card.
Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc).
Driving license.
Desirable Criteria
Working towards MCIOB or ICE
Experience in AI-based reality capture, eg Buildots, to monitor construction progress and assist programme management.
Use of digital progress data to support programme tracking and help the project team maintain delivery milestones.
Work with Revit models and BIM data to understand design intent and coordinate construction activities.
