Job title: Senior finance analyst
Location: Harlow - Hybrid (willing to travel occasionally)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst/ Business Partner to join the Training Team. This is an area of the business that is moving at a fast pace with a strong sales forecast and further potential for growth.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing high quality, accurate and actionable financial analysis and insight to the Finance and Programme teams.
The individual must have the resilience to work in a pressured environment and will be relied upon to support in the development of the AOP and 5 Year Plan, Quarterly EACs, monthly forecasting and variance analysis. This role would suit an individual looking to grow their potential and skill set, supporting the flawless program execution of the existing portfolio.
Main Duties:
1. Supporting the achievement of all metrics (bookings, sales, profit, cash).
2. Support in the establishment of the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and five year plan targets.
3. Support the Program Execution Team with Quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting.
4. Supporting new business proposals as and when required for Gate Reviews including pricing, basis-of-estimate generation, foreign exchange management and risks and opportunities management.
5. Act as the “financial conscience” of the business and ensure Business and Financial Policy adherence.
6. Providing financial insight to support the business risk & opportunities process (development, analysis, mitigation & review).
7. Building a network with all Stakeholders.
8. Champion best practice and look to improve systems and processes.
9. Support the Finance Manager to develop meaningful financial analysis to support new business investment decisions and pricing.
10. Ad-hoc financial analysis and decision support.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
11. Qualified accountant (CIMA preferred)

17. Excellent communication and presentation skills
Desirable:
18. Relevant commercial experience in a similar defence or complex contracting environment
19. Project Accounting experience
20. Experience of working with SAP, Cognos, MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
21. Have an existing security clearance or able & willing to achieve a level of security clearance.
