The role
SSEN Transmission has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Forestry Manager to support forestry management planning, design, and delivery of forestry operations across a portfolio of projects within the SHE Transmission Network.
You will
1. Coordinate and ensure the successful implementation of Forestry Project Management Services to deliver project programmes on time and within budget for Large Capital Projects across Base Capex, Customer Connections, and Strategic Wider Works portfolios.
2. Manage forestry-related risks to future Network security.
3. Oversee forestry management on sites at various development stages, from site identification and assessment through development, refinement, and execution stages.
4. Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, their agents, forestry contractors, and relevant bodies such as Scottish Forestry.
You have
* Knowledge of forestry management practices, measurement protocols, and operations management, with emphasis on timber harvesting.
* Understanding of UK forestry standards, including felling license laws, woodland management planning, and planting schemes.
* Knowledge of forestry valuation processes for woodlands and standing tree crops.
* Understanding of energy networks, their structure, and governance.
* An HNC, HND, or degree in a relevant discipline with management experience in forestry.
