Here within the Cancer Nursing Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to recruit a dynamic Gynaecological Cancer Care Coordinator – this post will be a 30 hours per week post based at York Hospital.
The role requires an administrator who can work autonomously within their scope of the job description and support the team to deliver safe, effective care to our patients. The appointee must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse multi-disciplinary group of clinicians, patients, and allied healthcare providers.
You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, organized, computer literate, and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development.

The Main Duties Of The Role Are
1. Provide a professional, proactive, and sensitive service to cancer patients and their relatives.
2. Act as a main point of contact for patients, carers, and the wider healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care through proactive identification of needs, utilising approved tools and procedures, in conjunction with the Cancer Nurse Specialist.
3. Collaborate and communicate with the wider healthcare team, acting as a resource to ensure the provision of appropriate services to maximise the health and quality of life of the patient, thereby improving healthcare delivery.
4. Coordinate the administrative functions within the complex cancer pathways, arranging investigations, appointments, and Multi-Disciplinary Team discussions to ensure waiting time targets are met and patients' needs are addressed.
5. Manage and prioritize the running of the service, working flexibly to meet the demands of the role, which can often be unpredictable.
