We currently have a fantastic opportunityavailable for a Water Treatment Technician (Day Work) to joinour team based in Plymouth. You will join us on afull-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive astarting salary of £25,756 per annum and a flexibility paymentof £833 per annum. In the development of this role, you willbe supported with a Water Treatment Technician levels 1 to 5progression scheme where you can receive up to £33,102 perannum, plus, overtime opportunities, company benefits + rewards.
Progression Scheme:
As part of your employmentpackage, the successful candidate will enrol onto a bespokeprogression scheme framework consisting of qualifications, skills andexperiences to meet the requirements of the nationally recognisedCompetent Technician Scheme. The Company will fully fund the entire£7,280 of the training costs associated with obtaining anumber of industry recognised professional qualifications andlicences, including a Level 3 Water Treatment Operations Diploma.
About the role:
As our Water TreatmentTechnician (Day Work), you will play a vital role to ensure thatthe operations of our water treatment site, associated plant andequipment effectively work every day. The ideal candidate will behands on, have a dedicated team player philosophy and looking to getstuck into the process by providing clean water for our customers byensuring that water quality and quantity is kept within the companyhigh standards.
Due to the nature of the role, you may on anad hoc basis need to provide out of hours standby cover in the eventof leave or sickness within the wider team to ensure the sites aremaintained. This role is predominantly day work, 37 hours per week andthere might be occasions where you are asked to cover a different timeperiod with adequate notice. This role will have the use of a companyvehicle to travel across the operational area within working hours.
What you'll be doing:
o Ensuring that potable water quality andquantity is maintained within company standards having due regard toabstraction licences and the requirements of the distribution system
o Ensuring that all chemicals are stored, handled and usedsafely, effectively and economically, in line with company procedures
o Carrying out operational maintenance on equipment andinstrumentation in accordance with work's schedules and instructions
o Taking water quality samples and carrying out on siteanalysis as required in accordance with works' instructions
o Completing water quality and operational procedures,records/log sheets
o Performing routine and non-routine tasksin accordance with the operational requirements of sites
o Ensuring that good housekeeping is carried out, maintainingthe works in a clean and tidy condition
o Ensuring that allabnormal events are dealt with in accordance with company proceduresand are reported to the Resources and Production Site Manager or theDuty Functional Manager out of hours
Whatwe are looking for:
Essential
o A good levelof Maths, English and IT.
o To be able to understand theprinciples of COSHH, Lone Working procedures and Basic First Aid.
o The ability to build strong relationships with people at alllevels of the business.
o The ability to reach sound judgementsand decisions when dealing with complex issues and operating in highlypressurised situations.
o A Full UK Drivers Licence.
Desirable
o NVQ 2 in Operating Process Plant / or a HNCin Water Operations - or working towards it
o Mechanical,electrical, ICA or scientific background.
o Experience in WaterTreatment or other relevant process.
