Axon Moore are working with a fast-growing, PE-backed business to appoint a Financial Accountant. Based in Manchester city centre, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a business experiencing strong, sustained growth.
Operating as a multi-entity group, the business partners with clients and continues to scale through technology and strategic partnerships. This role will play a key part in strengthening financial control, supporting month-end processes, and delivering high-quality financial reporting across the group.
Salary and Benefits
£50,000 - £52,000 per annum DOE, hybrid working (3 days in the office), flexible working hours, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, private medical, plus other benefits.
Role Responsibilities
* Own and deliver key aspects of the month-end close process across multiple entities.
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully supported and accurately reported.
* Assist with group consolidations, including inter-company reconciliations and adjustments.
* Post and review journals including accruals, prepayments, and inter-company transactions.
* Support the preparation of financial reports, providing clear commentary on performance and variances.
* Maintain fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
* Support the audit process, preparing audit files and acting as a key contact for external auditors.
* Assist with VAT returns and wider tax compliance processes.
* Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
* Build strong relationships across the business, supporting stakeholders with financial insight where required.
* Support ad-hoc projects and ongoing development of systems and processes as the business continues to scale.
Requirements for the role
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Practice background or experienced within a similar Financial Accountant role.
* Exposure to group consolidations is desirable.
* Experience with Xero or similar systems.
* Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive and inquisitive approach.
* Confident communicator, able to build relationships across the business.
* Self-starter with ambition to develop within a high-growth environment.
