We are working with a supportive secondary school in Eastbourne seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students displaying challenging behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need additional support.
The Role:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN and challenging behaviour
* Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Support students both in the classroom and in alternative learning environments
* Work closely with the SENCo, pastoral team, and teachers to create tailored support plans
* Help build students' confidence, self-regulation skills, and engagement with learning
* Monitor and record progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions
We're Looking For:
* Previous experience supporting students with challenging behaviour in a secondary setting
* Understanding of SEN including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural needs
* Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, consistent, and compassionate approach
* Resilience, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable students
* A proactive attitude and excellent communication skills
