We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient professional who will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. You will be dedicated to providing a caring, therapeutic, and safe environment in a residential setting.
Responsibilities
* Support the children’s emotional, social and educational development through individual and group activities.
* Provide one‑to‑one and two‑to‑one caregiving, including supervision, meal preparation, and hygiene support.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions and maintain accurate care records.
* Travel between homes as required within the same geographical area and drive children to and from school, appointments, and visits (a full UK manual driving licence is required).
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, educators, and senior management, to implement the therapeutic care model.
* Attend induction, ongoing training and Professional Development sessions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We Offer
* A starting salary of £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
* Full‑time rota pattern: one day on (24 h, including sleep‑over) and two days off (48 h).
* Average weekly hours (56.4 h, including sleep‑overs). Part‑time and zero‑hour contracts are also available.
* 5.6 weeks of annual leave per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time).
* Full funding (100 %) for a Level 3 SVQ/NVQ qualification in Residential Child Care.
* Career review after induction, training and attainment of minimum qualifications.

Essential Qualities
* Strong safeguarding commitment.
* Willingness to pursue further qualifications.
* Confident, resilient, and supportive nature.
* Valid full UK manual driver’s licence (all homes use manual vehicles).
* Patience, non‑judgmental communication, and active listening skills.
* Creativity and the ability to engage children in fun and learning activities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualities
* Up to 12 months of experience working with children or young adults (more experience may qualify for grade 2/3 salaries).
* Training toward or possession of an SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma relevant to the residential workforce (funding may be available).
* Familiarity with relevant Codes of Practice.
* Existing PVG/DBS certificate.
