Electrician – Street Lighting Salary - £35,235 - £39513 (Grade 6) Hours - 37 Contract type - Full time, permanent Work Style - To work to a rota between 06:00-18:00 Monday-Friday & Saturday 6:00-14:00 This role requires a full UK driving license and out of hours wor king (on-call/standby duty). We are seeking an electrician to provide operational support to enable the efficient operation and maintenance of the Street Lighting Network, to carry out both routine and non-routine maintenance of the network and participate in the call-out rota for the Street Lighting Team. Role responsibilities: To carry out non-routine maintenance to street lighting, illuminated signs, traffic signals and other pieces of highway electrical infrastructure. To carry out routine maintenance to street lighting, illuminated signs, traffic signals and other pieces of highway electrical infrastructure. To carry out electrical testing to the current edition of BS 7671 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations. To assist in the installation of street lighting, illuminated signs, traffic signals and other pieces of highway electrical infrastructure. To carry out fault finding on Wolverhampton Council’s private cable network and carry out the necessary repairs. This will involve working on both single and three phase networks. Essential role requirements: Full UK driving licence. Ability to drive/ operate gritting machinery. City & Guilds Electrical 236 parts 1 & 2/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification. City & Guilds 2382/ BS 7671 current edition of Electrical Wiring Regulations or equivalent qualification. IPAF Mobile Elevated Platform Certification. Experience in the maintenance, testing and renewal of street lighting and other highway electrical systems. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces.
