Role: Neonatal Nurse (Band 5)
As a Band 5 Neonatal Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to preterm and term infants requiring medical or nursing support after birth. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualised care for neonates in special care, high dependency, or intensive care settings. You will monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to clinical changes with timely interventions.
Effective communication is essential as you liaise with families, safeguarding teams, and other healthcare professionals to support holistic care. You will promote family-integrated care, encouraging parental involvement and maintaining dignity and respect throughout the infant’s hospital stay. Accurate documentation and adherence to professional standards are critical.
You will participate in ongoing professional development, including neonatal-specific training programmes, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Shift work across a 24/7 rota is required, and you may rotate between units or support transitional care services. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews are scheduled for 12/11/2025.

* Experience delivering care to neonates in special care, high dependency, or intensive care settings
* Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with a patient- and family-centred approach
* Strong communication skills with families and healthcare teams
* Commitment to professional development and adherence to clinical standards
* Willingness to work a 24/7 rota and rotate between units or transitional care services
* Welsh language ability is desirable; support available if not initially met
