We have quadrupled the business over the last three years and as such we are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to head our engineering teams based in Witham, Essex, and Corby, Northamptonshire. (This position is posted for Witham, but we will also consider candidates in Corby.)
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management
1. Identify new design, manufacture, cost reduction, and efficiency projects
2. Oversee all engineering projects
3. Task assignment
4. Project prioritization working with senior leadership team
5. Budget responsibility
6. Reporting to wider business and parent company (Trexon)
2. Product Roadmap
1. Collaborate with the sales team to develop product roadmap
2. Work with laboratories to test new designs
3. Work with marketing to launch new products
4. Work with production assembly of new product lines
5. Define test parameters and performance capabilities
3. Job Costing
1. Labor estimation for quotations
2. Piece part costings, working with the materials team
3. Identify and price required equipment
4. Value Stream Mapping and Lean Assembly Procedures and Processes
1. Create and maintain documentation for engineering
2. Define and improve processes for assembly and test
3. ISO and SC21 documentation management
5. Technical Support
1. Work with sales team on inquiries
2. Collaborate with customers remotely and onsite
3. Support the manufacturing team
6. Marketing Activities
1. Attend trade shows and conferences
2. Technical documentation
3. Presentation creation and delivery
4. Creation of promotional materials and samples
About You:
The successful candidate will have a technical management background and be passionate about their work, have good interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate well with customers and co-workers. Be creative, enquiring, and be capable of problem-solving. Good oral, written, and presentational skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. CAD experience essential, ideally with SolidWorks. Experience of RF/Microwave connector design, cryogenic component design, and wire harness design would be a distinct advantage.
