This is a rare opportunity to join at the very beginning and help shape how a modern public authority operates.Reporting to the Finance Manager, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Accounting Technician to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial support while contributing to new systems and processes.About the RoleAs an Accounting Technician, you will provide technical financial support across a wide range of accounting functions. This is a varied and hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and thrives in a developing environment.You'll play a crucial part in ensuring financial data is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time, while also helping build the systems and processes that will underpin our future success.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations accurately and efficientlyManage payroll journals and reconcile PAYE, national insurance, and pension accountsSupport accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoices and queriesAssist with the development and improvement of financial systems and processesProvide guidance to colleagues on financial procedures and systemsMaintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with audit requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to continuous improvementEssential Skills & ExperienceRecognised accounting qualification (ideally AAT, or equivalent experience)Experience delivering core accounting tasks (e.g.
