The role As a Mission System Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The role is within our complex shipbuilding programme, developing designs through concept and early-stage design as well as supporting the bidding process. Day to day, you'll be responsible for the design and management through design and construction of Mission Systems Compartments (such as Operations Rooms, Communications Offices, Mission and Briefing Spaces as well as mast compartments), as well as the Topside Design of the platform / concept. Combat Systems Engineering / Mission Systems Engineering Support Engagement with Customers to develop and agree an unambiguous statement of requirements. Support the generation and assessment of the suitability of sensor and weapon suites for concept designs. Compartment and or System Ownership through design stages Support the specification, selection and/or management of external suppliers (component and service) as required. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, The role is adaptable and can be based at any UK Babcock Hub which includes various sites, including but not limited to Bristol, Devonport, Rosyth, Leicester and Warrington with hybrid working from home arrangements available. Essential experience of the Mission Systems Engineer Extensive Design experience Good written and verbal communication skills. The role requires an ability to work within a multi-discipline team Qualifications for the Mission Systems Engineer: HNC/HND or relevant experience in engineering position The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
