Overview

TEACHING AND LEARNING ASSISTANT - LEVEL 2 WITH SEN

GRADE D SCP 6 - 11 (£25,989 - £28,142) FTE PLUS SEN ALLOWANCE £1,539. FTE ACTUAL SALARY £7,518.38 - £8,141.22 PLUS SEN ALLOWANCE £445.21. 12.5 HOURS PER WEEK (MON FRI 1.00 - 3.30PM). TERM TIME PLUS 5 DAYS. FIXED TERM CONTRACT (UNTIL 31/08/2026). REQUIRED ASAP.

St. Catherine’s CE Primary School wishes to appoint a patient and highly motivated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs to work in our school. Your role will involve taking on small group work, as well as supporting whole classes. You will be supporting SEN pupils through the academic, social and emotional elements of school life and will need to promote and secure high standards of teaching and learning while supporting pupil achievement and progression. You will actively contribute to St. Catherine’s vision and aims. This role involves working closely with Special Educational Needs pupils to enable them to take the fullest advantage of all that takes place at St. Catherine’s CE Primary School. You will take a proactive role in ensuring that pupils have full access to the curriculum, working closely with teachers and other supporting professionals to identify and meet pupil needs.

Your main duties

* To work with and supervise individuals and groups of students under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff, including specific individual learning needs, supporting target setting for students and enabling access to learning for all students.
* Assisting in managing students’ sometimes significant and challenging behaviour through the use of a range of strategies and techniques.
