Hire Fitter/Driver at Travis Perkins Forest Hill (Lewisham)
As a Hire Fitter/Driver, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hire Manager to ensure all mechanical and electrical processes and procedures are followed in repairing and testing tools and equipment to the Travis Perkins Tool Hire standard.
You will join a 3-person Hire team, including a dedicated driver responsible for delivering larger stock, working independently within the wider branch team of 20. The Forest Hill branch is exploring expansion options to enhance the Tool Hire business. You will support the integration of Hire into the wider branch by maintaining our Hire inventory, ensuring compliance, and readiness for use.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all tools and hire equipment are tested, safe, and available for hire
* Support the Hire Manager in managing department operations
* Deliver and collect tools and equipment for customers
* Build relationships with customers, understand their needs, and offer expert advice and product recommendations
* Adhere to all Tool Hire processes, procedures, audits, and inspections to ensure safety and compliance
Required Experience
Experience in the Plant and Hire Industry or knowledge of electrical, petrol, and diesel equipment is advantageous but not essential. Transferable skills such as customer service and sales are important. A full clean UK driving license is required.
