The Role
* Working closely with the R&D Engineering Manager and a multi-disciplinary team, the R&D Engineer will:
* Carry out cutting-edge research into electronics and electrical engineering challenges, modelling and simulating new approaches.
* Develop and prototype sensor-based condition monitoring technologies, taking concepts through proof-of-concept to working solutions.
* Support product development by transferring innovative designs into commercial applications.
* Get hands-on with testing and commissioning, both in the lab and out in the field.
* Contribute to patents, technical papers, and collaborations with academia, keeping the business at the forefront of research and industry knowledge.
* Play a key role in cross-functional projects, ensuring new technologies integrate seamlessly into the wider portfolio.

What They’re Looking For
* A Master’s (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar.
* Strong experience in electronics/electrical design and simulation tools (e.g. LTSPICE, Matlab, Altium).
* Hands-on lab skills including soldering, wiring, and testing prototypes with a wide range of equipment.
* Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or C preferred).
* A genuine curiosity and drive to solve complex problems, explore new technologies, and learn continuously.
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to share findings in papers, presentations, and conferences.
