Grade 7 (£42,708 - £47,754)

About WMPF

WMPF is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands.We manage and administer the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently have over £21 billion in assets under management.

We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our continually growing Finance, Resources and Transformation Service Area.Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton and is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.

What the day will look like

Responsibilities include:

* Develop knowledge of the organisation, its aims, objectives and priorities, and to understand the impact of the major business change programmes of the Fund and the effect they will have on the organisation and other change initiatives, becoming a catalyst for change, helping to drive through the initiatives and the realisation of business benefits.
* Develop productive and effective relationships with business customers, meeting with all levels of business user to understand the business and requirements.
* Define and analyse existing KPIs & underlying processes to identify areas for improving efficiency and effectiveness through waste reduction, removal of non-value-add activities, and exploiting opportunities to increase levels of STP.
* Map and document business processes, ensuring all systems dependencies and interfaces are captured, inherent risks identified, and appropriate controls defined.
* Prepare procedures documentation to support the development of key business processes, ensuring roles and responsibilities across the process are clearly set out and understood.
* Prepare systems and data maps to ensure data capture, storage and flows between systems are understood and optimised where possible, whilst also considering overall data integrity.

About you

You will be an experienced and proactive Business Analyst with a strong background in regulatory or financial services, skilled in process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and driving operational improvements through data, systems, and process analysis.You will be delivery-focused, collaborative, and able to work independently to support and lead projects that align with the Fund’s ambitious transformation goals.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style.Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.
