Elevation Recruitment Group is working with an FMCG company that is recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Team Leader based at their facility in Rotherham.
Salary: c£52,000 – £55,000
Shifts: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off (6:00am – 6:00pm / 6:00pm – 6:00am)
Overtime: Available at 1.5x rate
The Maintenance Team Leader role combines practical hands-on involvement with leading a team. This position is ideal for someone ambitious, capable of managing a close-knit team that requires firm but fair direction, and looking to progress into a future Maintenance Manager role.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Team Leader will include:
1. Leading a team of multi-disciplined engineers
2. Overseeing daily PPMs, reactive maintenance, and issuing work orders
3. Liaising with the Production Manager to align maintenance activities with production needs
4. Carrying out and delegating PPM tasks and responding to breakdowns efficiently
5. Organising and conducting 1-2-1s, managing holidays, training, and development plans
6. Keeping accurate records and producing reports related to maintenance operations
We are keen to speak with Maintenance Team Leaders/Maintenance Supervisors with the following:
* Recognised technical qualification (electrical or mechanical)
* Proven experience in a supervisory/lead engineer/team leader role
* Background in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments (not necessarily heavy industry)
* Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing a maintenance team
* An electrical bias is preferred, but strong mechanical candidates with solid electrical knowledge will be considered
* Someone assertive and confident enough to manage a long-standing team needing clear direction
* Ability to handle difficult conversations and team discipline tactfully and professionally
* Good communication and organisation skills with a focus on team development and progression
