As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of vehicles, ranging from small vans to HGVs. The ideal candidate is passionate about automotive work, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in fault finding and repairs.
Position Details
* Role: Fitter (HGV Field Service Engineer)
* Location: Based at Beckton depot (Ilford, North East London), with travel across the Waste Network Services catchment
* Type: Permanent, full-time
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
* Salary: £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain hydraulic and high-pressure jetting systems, including pumps, hoses, and controls.
* Inspect and troubleshoot hydraulic and jetting equipment for optimal performance.
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance, focusing on hydraulic components.
* Respond to breakdowns, perform on-site repairs, and utilize diagnostic tools.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, staying updated on relevant legislation.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong background in commercial HGV vehicle servicing.
* Class B Driving Licence and recognized industry qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Class C+E / HGV Class 2 Licence is essential.
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are advantageous.
* Water industry experience and hydraulics knowledge are preferred.
