The Role As an Associate Lecturer, you will be at the heart of our distinctive pedagogical model. Your primary focus will be facilitating the "student law firm" experience through PBL sessions. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate & Mentor: Lead PBL sessions, seminars, and skills workshops at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Innovative Assessment: Design and deliver high-quality assessments and provide constructive feedback that drives student growth. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the evolution of our learning resources, particularly as we integrate SQE-focused skills. Academic Support: Provide dedicated guidance on study skills and academic development, ensuring an inclusive experience for a diverse student body. Your Profile We are looking for colleagues who are grounded in the foundations of legal knowledge but flexible enough to facilitate learning across various substantive areas. Requirements: Legal Expertise: A detailed knowledge of the law of England and Wales. Educational Background: An undergraduate degree in English Law (or equivalent legal qualification/experience). Teaching Excellence: An appropriate teaching qualification or a proactive willingness to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP). Student-Centric Mindset: A proven ability to supervise students, troubleshoot learning hurdles, and offer empathetic academic advice. Why York?
