Rate: Competitive daily rate (£29,770-£31,792 per annum equivalent)
Contract: Temporary (specific dates below)
We are looking for 2 Careers Advisors to help out with our Careers Advice Cafes. 1 will be based in Huntingdon and 1 in Cambridge.
Contract Dates:
1. Tuesday 26th August to Friday 29th August: 9am-4pm
2. Monday 1st September and Tuesday 2nd September: 9am-5pm
3. Monday 8th September and Tuesday 9th September: 9am-5pm
Ready to make a genuine impact on students' futures? Our client—a highly regarded Further Education college—is seeking committed Careers Advisors to provide temporary support to their dynamic Student Services team during their Careers Advice Cafes.
About the Role As a Careers Advisor, you'll provide high-quality impartial advice and guidance (CEIAG) to students and apprentices during these intensive career guidance sessions. Your role will involve:
4. Delivering 1:1 careers guidance sessions and developing action plans for each individual
5. Supporting students with immediate career decisions and next steps
6. Providing guidance on apprenticeships, university, employment and training options
7. Assisting with UCAS applications and researching progression opportunities
8. Recording all interactions appropriately on college systems
9. Supporting students during drop-in sessions and scheduled appointments
What We're Looking For
10. Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance & Development
11. GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent)
12. Demonstrated experience delivering impartial careers support to young people and adults
13. Strong 1:1 careers advice delivery skills
14. Knowledge of post-16 & post-19 education, skills and employment pathways
15. Confident IT and communication skills
16. Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
Desirable:
17. Experience working in further education environments
18. Knowledge of widening participation agendas
19. Familiarity with UCAS processes and college systems
