The Role
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and help drive the business forward.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone ready to step up or an experienced Sous Chef seeking a fresh challenge in a fast-paced gastro pub environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
* Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
* Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
* Manage stock, ordering, and food cost control
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards
* Train and motivate junior kitchen staff
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a fresh-food kitchen
* Passion for modern British and seasonal cuisine
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Ability to work well under pressure in a busy service
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum)
* Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
