You will provide 1:1 support to pupils with mental health needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs, helping them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. About the Provision A calm, nurturing and safe environment supporting pupils across the local authority Small class sizes (usually no more than 10 pupils) with a high staff-to-student ratio A supportive and experienced team who will help you flourish in your role Ongoing guidance, mentoring, and training provided Team Teach training offered during half-term breaks About the Role Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs Support teachers and classroom staff with behaviour management and tailored support strategies Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment Provide firm but fair guidance, maintaining clear boundaries with a caring and understanding approach The Successful Candidate Will Have: Desirable experience in one or more of the following areas: Mental health support Care work or residential care Youth work Healthcare or support roles Sports coaching A genuine passion for supporting children and young people Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well as part of a team and follow guidance Commitment to completing required training No formal qualifications required – ideal for those new to education Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can help) EWC registration (guidance provided) Two professional references Ability to travel to the Caerphilly area Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
