Overview
Johnstone Credit Union (JCU) is a not-for-profit organisation, and while our premises are based in Johnstone our common bond area goes beyond to include Paisley, Linwood, and the villages, providing services for approximately 4,000 members. Like all credit unions JCU is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
Established almost 40 years ago, the credit union has continued to develop and grow, changing and adapting to the needs of our members and the financial environment, establishing a solid reputation with our local community and the credit union community more widely.
Role
We are recruiting a new manager to lead a small team of staff to deliver on our objectives, and support our members and the local community. The successful candidate will have significant experience in a senior management position, or managing a credit union or similar organisation, and be educated to degree level in a related discipline (e.g. finance/accountancy). He/she will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, management and analytical skills, and be competent in strategic planning and informed decision making. He/she will work closely with the existing manager for a defined period of time to ensure a smooth hand over and transition.
Responsibilities
Lead a small team of staff to deliver on JCU objectives and support members and the local community. Demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities. Work with the existing manager during a defined transition period to ensure a smooth handover.
Qualifications
• Degree level in a related discipline (e.g. finance/accountancy).
• Significant experience in a senior management position, or managing a credit union or similar organisation.
• Experience of working within a regulatory framework.
• Excellent leadership, management and analytical skills; capable of strategic planning and informed decision making.
