To work under the direction of the class teacher or head of department, to implement planning and assessment, working with individual or small groups of pupils to achieve high levels of accelerated pupil progress. To support pupils to overcome barriers to learning, promoting the inclusion of all pupils by developing them Communication skills, supporting them to manage their behaviour, developing independence and social skills and to take responsibility for monitoring/reporting on the impact of class-based interventions. Complementing the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups, or for whole classes Monitor pupils and assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development Support the development of pupils’ literacy, Reading and Phonics skills in all lessons Assessing the needs of pupils and using detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning About Coal Clough Academy: Coal Clough Academy is an 11 - 16 Alternative Provision for young people, many of whom have found it difficult to be successful in a mainstream school. At Key Stage 4, we focus on providing the opportunity for students to gain 5 GCSEs to ensure a successful transition to college, training or employment.
