Our client is a specialist engineering companyacross clean and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Working closely with tier-one contractors and framework partners, they deliver robust, buildable electrical designs across treatment works, pumping stations, and network assets.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking amid-to-senior Electrical Design Engineerto join their Bristol-based team.
The Role
You will be involved in thefull D&B design lifecycle, producing practical, construction-ready electrical designs and supporting projects through delivery. Key responsibilities include:
* Electrical design from outline design through to detailed design and construction issue
* Development ofbuildable LV electrical designsincluding power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, control panels, standby generation, and earthing/bonding
* Preparation of electrical calculations such as load schedules, cable sizing, fault levels, and protection coordination
* Production and coordination of electrical drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and cable schedules
* Close coordination withmechanical, civil, ICA, and construction teamsto resolve buildability, sequencing, and installation challenges
* Technical review of supplier and subcontractor design information
* Support during construction, commissioning, and handover phases
* Ensuring compliance withBS 7671, WIMES, DSEAR, CDM, and client standards
About You
You will ideally have:
* A qualification in Electrical Engineering (degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
* Proven experience delivering electrical design withinD&B water or wastewater projects
* Strong understanding of construction-stage design development and contractor interfaces
* Experience working with MCC suppliers and electrical subcontractors
* Familiarity with electrical design tools such asAmtech/Trimble and AutoCAD
* A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to engineering design
* Clear communication skills and confidence working in fast-paced project environments
* Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (IET or equivalent) would be beneficial but is not essential.
