Lead Analyst, Credit Risk Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting

Location: London, Petersfield or Bradford. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.

Working Pattern: Hybrid—typically a couple of days a week in the office. Flexible arrangements are considered to support work-life balance. The Role:


Join us as a Lead Analyst, Credit Risk Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting where you'll take charge of creating and delivering meaningful analysis, providing key insights that guide business strategy and improve decision-making. Your analysis will support key business functions in identifying trends, managing risk, and capitalizing on opportunities. You will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced forecasting models, ensuring the accuracy of predictions, and driving improvements in portfolio performance.

As a Lead Analyst, Credit Risk Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting you will:

* Data Analysis & Insights: Use advanced data analytics techniques and statistical models to provide actionable insights into portfolio performance, risk exposure, and credit quality.
* Performance Monitoring: Regularly track and assess portfolio performance, creating new reporting as needed, to inform operational strategies and adjust forecasts where necessary.
* Forecasting Models: Help drive the design and implementation of advanced forecasting models for key portfolios (e.g., credit cards, loans, vehicle finance) to predict trends, risks, and opportunities. Ensure the models are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to evolving business needs.
* Stakeholder Communication: Present your findings and actionable recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders to influence strategic decisions and drive performance improvements.
* Team Leadership: Provide guidance on best practices, share knowledge, and help develop the team’s skills.
* Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with teams in risk management, finance, product development, and operations to provide actionable insights and ensure alignment with business goals.
* Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve portfolio monitoring and reporting, forecasting models and methodologies to enhance accuracy, reduce errors, and ensure the effectiveness of decision-making processes.

What We’re Looking For:

* 3+ years’ experience in Credit Risk portfolio analysis, or a related field within the consumer credit industry.
* Strong background using advanced analytics tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
* Proven ability to collaborate within and develop an analytical team, prioritizing tasks and delivering strategic guidance.
* Expertise in converting complex data into business insights, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to non-technical and senior stakeholders.
* Ability to anticipate trends and adjust forecasting strategies based on emerging data and market conditions.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy in performance monitoring.
* Background in IFRS9 impairments
* Experience in developing, validating or monitoring Credit Models (impairment, stress testing, forecasting)

* 30-minute call with Talent Acquisition.
* 1 hour interview with the hiring team.
* Final interview
