 
        
        Subcontractor Strategy & Engagement
 * Build strategic, long-term relationships with contractors to support successful project delivery.
 * Liaise with contractors and assist in contract negotiations to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and commercial terms.
 * Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to develop a cohesive pre-construction plan.
 * Provide input on technical and commercial requirements during RFQs and vendor engagement.
Project Delivery & Execution Planning
 * Contribute to the development of a comprehensive delivery plan, incorporating contractor capabilities and logistical needs.
 * Review engineering designs and advise on constructability to optimise execution strategies.
 * Collaborate with project teams to integrate contractor plans into the overall design.
 * Align with stakeholders on execution strategy and key project milestones.
Commercial & Risk Planning
 * Assess risks and opportunities related to contractor performance and integrate findings into project planning and cost estimates.
 * Work with procurement teams to define mechanical scopes and technical requirements that reduce risk and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
 * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrably equivalent qualification.
 * A minimum of four years' experience in project engineering on large-scale water or industrial projects.
 * Demonstrable experience of managing the technical and supporting commercial interface with contractors, particularly during the pre-construction, tendering or planning phases.
 * Experience in evaluating contractor proposals.
 * Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
 * Full UK driving license.
 * Experience of working on projects within the Thames Water framework or for other major UK water utilities would be an advantage.
