A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations. You will be working alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and maintaining all departmental standards. Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we are committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions and will support you to gain any additional accreditations you may need to be able to deliver these services.
We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our dynamic team, committed to excellence in healthcare. You will help to deliver a memorable customer experience, use your clinical skills and passion for the role, and foster positive relationships within our team and the wider community.
Responsibilities
• Complete eye examinations, contact lens fittings and extended service examinations. • Work closely with the Dispensing Optician Manager to support training, coaching and maintain departmental standards. • Participate in delivering care under NHS extended service contracts and pursue additional accreditations as required. • Supervise students (optional for GOC registered professionals) and support the development of new patient services. • Coordinate with store, regional and home‑office teams to offer expert clinical and service support.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
* Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda, funded and supported by us).
* On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department.
