We are seeking an experienced Electrical Contract Manager to join our MEP Projects Team based in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a business renowned for delivering high-quality building services projects, both locally and nationally.
As an Electrical Contract Manager, you'll report directly to the Operations Manager and take full ownership of multiple projects—covering traditional and Design & Build schemes. You'll be responsible for planning, procurement, delivery, financial performance, and client satisfaction, ensuring safe and successful project oues.
Key Responsibilities
5. Lead the delivery of electrical projects from pre-construction through to handover.
6. Manage project planning, resourcing, budgets, and timelines.
7. Conduct site visits, surveys, client meetings, inspections, and handovers (travel and overnight stays may be required).
8. Provide guidance, support, and leadership to project teams, monitoring performance and development.
9. Oversee procurement of materials, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency.
10. Manage the customer relationship, handling expectations and resolving disputes.
11. Prepare and present Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) forecasts to management.
12. Liaise with Design, Estimating, and Subcontract teams to ensure successful project delivery.
13. Drive performance improvements and promote continuous development within the operations team.
14. Ensure strictpliance with Health & Safety, statutory testing, and industry standards (IEE, NICEIC, JCT, NEC etc.).
15. Maintain accurate project documentation, permits to work, andpliance registers.
16. Identify and maximise opportunities for extra works and revenue growth.
What You'll Need to Succeed
17. Core electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds).
18. Ideally, HNC / HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
19. Proven experience as an Electrical Contract Manager or Project Manager.
20. Strong background in Health & Safety management, including CDM Regulations.
21. Strong client relationship management andmunication skills.
22. Ability to lead teams, manage change, and deliver projects successfully under pressure.
