Planner – Private Planning Consultancy – Reading
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will contribute to a range of planning activities including report writing, site appraisals, policy research, and monitoring applications. You’ll liaise with clients and multidisciplinary consultants, assist with project management, and help prepare planning statements and appeals.
This role offers exposure to diverse planning work and direct involvement in development projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake site appraisals and prepare high‑quality written reports
* Conduct policy research and check planning policy matters for submissions
* Monitor planning applications and provide strategic input
* Assist with lodging appeals and preparing supporting documents
* Liaise with clients and external consultants to progress projects
* Support project management and delivery through the planning process
About You
* Planning experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
* Strong report writing skills and understanding of planning policy
* Good commercial awareness and ability to manage tasks to deadlines
* Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong client relationships
* Confident working independently and collaboratively
