Landscape Architect
* Hourly Rate: £19.81

We are seeking a Landscape Architect to deliver high-quality landscape architectural services across the Authority. This role involves supporting internal departments, community groups, external agencies, private sector partners, voluntary organisations, and schools. The Landscape Architect will drive continual service improvement through professional design, planning, and delivery of landscape schemes.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Lead all professional stages of landscape design and delivery, including budget control and financial management.
* Provide expert advice on planning applications and submit applications for internal schemes.
* Support the Section Head in managing Section 106 planning gain processes and delivering the annual work programme.
* Supervise junior staff as directed.
* Contribute to service development strategies, including funding bids and marketing.
* Assist in shaping departmental and corporate policies to optimise resource use.
* Design hard and soft landscaping schemes, including feasibility studies, site surveys, and funding documentation.
* Prepare contract documentation: tenders, specifications, bills of quantities, and working drawings.
* Oversee contract supervision, compliance, and financial management.
* Provide landscape and open space planning advice.
* Conduct landscape assessments and planning projects.
* Facilitate land dedication for public open space.
* Offer consultancy on landscape/environmental matters to internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure service improvement through cross-divisional collaboration and public consultation.
* Respond to queries and complaints in line with customer care standards.
* Represent the department at committees and working groups.
* Monitor section output and supervise assistants, students, consultants, and temporary staff.
* Undertake other duties as assigned by the Landscape Regeneration Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in landscape architecture, including planning, design, and delivery.
* Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising junior staff.
* Expertise in preparing and managing contracts, including financial management.
* Ability to provide high-level consultancy on landscape and environmental matters.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
