Job Description - Positive Behaviour Support Worker (25580)
Join us as a Positive Behaviour Support Worker in Wiltshire, working full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a salary of £25,838 per annum and benefits like a Health Cash Plan.
About the role
You will provide person-centred support to our customer, J, who has complex needs including learning disability and autism. J is a gentle, intelligent young man with sensory processing difficulties and hypersensitivity to sound. Your role involves understanding his needs, supporting his independence, and promoting his well-being using positive behavioural support techniques.
Responsibilities
* Help J overcome barriers and reach his potential.
* Recognize and support J's strengths and aspirations.
* Implement positive behavioural support to promote independence and social inclusion.
* Monitor health and wellbeing, managing risks appropriately.
Candidate requirements
* Experience in a complex care setting or willingness to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care.
* Support experience with individuals with complex needs or distress behaviors.
* Patience, calmness, and adaptability to J's needs and circumstances.
* Experience with positive risk management.
* Makaton skills are desirable but not essential.
Team and work environment
You will work under the guidance of Deb, our experienced Registered Manager, in a supportive and caring team environment. The role involves shift work on a rota basis, with 15-hour shifts between 7am and 10pm, offering plenty of days off.
