Hays Accountancy & Finance is pleased to be working with a largepany based in Sheffield who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their vibrant Finance Team based in Sheffield. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable transactions, playing a key part in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our business.
Your new role
1. Accurately manage and process Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring timelypletion in line withpany standards.
2. Deliver precise financial reporting in accordance with team requirements and deadlines.
3. Monitor and analyse quality-related costs to support effective cost control and informed decision-making.
4. Input and evaluate post-calculation data within the New Products sector to support financial insights.
5. Establish and maintain robust financial controls and systems to optimise resource use and minimise financial risk.
6. Assist the Finance Manager with Month End reporting, ensuring accuracy andpleteness.
7. Ensure supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms and industry best practices.
8. Uphold strong internal controls within the Purchase Ledger function, including proper purchase order authorisation and accurate invoice processing.
9. Support the preparation of annual audits and collaborate with the Finance Manager and Business Controller throughout the audit process.
What you'll need to succeed
10. Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger or similar finance role.
11. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
12. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
13. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics is a plus).
14. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
15. A collaborative team player with excellentmunication skills.
