A well-established large format print company are seeking an experienced Pre-Press Operator to join their busy production team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, producing high-quality print solutions for a variety of clients.
Working closely with the Studio Manager and Production team, you will prepare, check, and optimise artwork for print, ensuring that all jobs are produced to the highest possible quality whilst meeting production deadlines.
This role is working on the day shift (Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm)
The Role
Prepare and check customer-supplied artwork, ensuring all files meet print and cutter specifications.
Create proofs and visuals for client approval, maintaining a professional presentation standard.
Generate print-ready PDFs and cutter guides using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat PitStop.
Set up files with correct bleed, cutter paths, registration dots, white ink layers, and overprint settings.
Use RIP software (Fiery Command Workstation) to scale, nest, and impose files for production.
Support the automation process using Auto-Plan software to optimise print batching and cutter layouts.
Communicate with Production to ensure accurate transfer of approved files and final proofs.
Follow internal job management procedures (file naming, folder structure, proofing workflow).
Support the Studio Manager and Sales team with visuals and artwork presentations when required.The Person
Proven experience in a prepress or large format print studio.
Confident using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat with PitStop).
Working knowledge of Fiery Command Workstation, Zünd cutting setup, and white ink workflows.
Strong attention to detail, colour accuracy, and file management discipline.
Ability to interpret briefs, follow brand guidelines, and maintain consistency across outputs.
Experience preparing artwork for multiple substrates including Dibond, acrylic, PVC, vinyls, and banners.
Understanding of cutter guide creation (V-cuts, creasing, scoring, holes, stand-off fixings).
Excellent organisational and communication skills.Salary and Benefits:
A salary of up to £35,000 is on offer for this role, and is dependent on experience. Plus a £2,000 signing on bonus once you’ve successfully completed your probationary period.
