Underwriter – Woking / Hybrid

The purpose of this role is to provide administration support to Private Client team to help Virtu deliverer on SLAs and new business enquiries, enhancing service to wide distribution of brokers.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the following:
· Underwriting and placement of new business, renewals and MTAs.
· Adhering to Virtu SLAs.
· Supporting the performance and progression of underwriting assistant/s.
· Maintain a strong working knowledge of property underwriting.
· Develop relationships with insurers and brokers.
Underwriting class responsibility – following the guidance set out in the various binding authorities issued to the business.

Responsibility for acting in good faith, avoiding foreseeable harm and helping consumers achieve their financial objectives.

Qualifications
Cert CII to be completed as part of role
Experience/ skills
· A minimum of three experience in property underwriting.
· Understand the general insurance market and the products available to the Company's Brokers.
· A good understanding of underwriting principle
· Ability to underwrite, rate and assess risk
· Competent communication skills with external stake holders
· Working knowledge of the claims process
· Managing relationships with brokers and insurers
· Competent user of insurance client system; Acturis an advantage
· Confident in using Microsoft Suite
