Overview
Our client, a pivotal entity in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Chartered Senior Engineer for a contract position.
Responsibilities
* Providing independent oversight as the CG300 works examiner on Gallows Corner
* Conducting site visits 3-4 times a week at the start of employment to inspect and sign off on 6 live sites
* Ensuring adherence to construction and highway standards
* Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes
* Preparing detailed reports and technical documentation
* Managing and mentoring junior engineers on site
* Ensuring all engineering solutions are robust, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards
* Maintaining an independent approach to project assessments and validations
Qualifications
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructE
* Strong experience in highways, construction, and bridge engineering
* Proficiency in conducting site inspections and signing off on critical project milestones
* Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under minimal supervision
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
* Experience in preparing comprehensive technical reports
* Ability to mentor and guide junior team members
