About M Group Services Plant and Fleet and your team
With 8 depots across the UK, M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions provide innovative plant and fleet asset management solutions across M Group Services. We provide our business with more than 9,000 vehicles and over 25,000 owned or externally hired plant assets.
Our team has grown rapidly and we are responsible for the supply and management of specialist equipment and vehicles, supplying the Water, Energy, Transport, Data and Telecommunication sectors.
As a Specialist Plant Fitter, you will be part of our Plant & Equipment Team who are responsible for the servicing, maintenance and support of all specialist plant and equipment across the UK.
Who you are?
As a Specialist Plant Fitter, you will be site based across the UK, to support and deliver contracts within our overhead line business. You will conduct daily checks of all specialist plant and equipment for your assigned contracts and ensure the plant & equipment is fit for purpose, within test and inspection and offer guidance to Operators and Site Management.
As the Specialist Plant Fitter, you’ll get the opportunity to:
1. Promote a positive safety culture and encourage behaviours to prevent harm to people. Including in participating in the Daily Risk Assessments, Audits, Weekly Safety Briefings and actively participating and submitting Safety Observation Reports (SORS)
2. Complete all preventative and essential maintenance within the plant department to the highest standards ensuing safety is our priority and in line with the manufacturer’s instructions
3. Ensure the load testing and 3rd Party inspections within the workshop are completed as part of the maintenance procedure
4. Ensuring testing is completed on time every time in line with the latest regulations for PUWER and LOLER
5. Contribute towards plant innovation and improvements with the aim to reduce downtime
6. Support operational projects across the UK by ensuring all deadlines are met and maintenance is carried out in agreement with the NDC and project management teams
7. Ensure plant & equipment is maintained in-line with manufacturer instructions and Babcock policies/procedures, with any items out of date, quarantined, disarmed and visibly marked as ‘out of service’ at the NDC and on active projects
8. Ensure the safe loading and unloading operations at the NDC for vehicles taking equipment to and from construction sites, including articulated lorries, using Forklift Trucks, Telehandler’s, fall prevention and Banksmen / supervisory requirements
What you’ll bring?
9. NVQ Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
10. Knowledge of Overhead line Specialist Equipment desirable
11. Full driving licence
