About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment, and ensuring accurate, competitive tender submissions. You’ll play a key role in securing new business and supporting project delivery from concept through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
1. Produce cost plans and estimates for large-scale, complex projects.
2. Review tender documentation and develop comprehensive launch proposals.
3. Identify resources and risks associated with each bid.
4. Prepare analytical net cost estimates, including preliminaries, following company procedures.
5. Collaborate with construction planners, design managers, bid managers, and consultants to develop robust tender proposals.
6. Present tender packages for internal review and support post-tender negotiations.
7. Convert successful estimates into actionable project briefs and ensure seamless handover to operations teams.
8. Participate in client negotiations to secure contracts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
1. At least 5+ years' estimating experience with a main electrical or building services contractor.
2. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
3. Excellent understanding of electrical technology, systems, and modern construction techniques.
4. Proficient in estimating from first principles.
5. Relevant qualification in Construction, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services (HND or equivalent).
6. Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
7. Motivated and proactive with a solutions-focused mindset.
8. EU or international project experience is a distinct advantage.
