STEAM, Museum of the Great Western Railway is seeking customer focussed casual Visitor Experience Officers with experience and relevant skills working in a visitor environment to join our successful Swindon Museums team.
Your next role
The successful candidates will act as duty officer on a day-to-day basis, overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the STEAM Museum facilities, events and activities, including responsibility for day to day management and supervision of Visitor Experience Assistants, Museum Cleaners and volunteers, ensuring that visitors have an inspirational visitor experience and that excellent customer care is provided.
The Visitor Experience Officer is responsible for delivering a safe, accessible, and welcoming experience for all visitors. The role is physically active, often supporting the team with large event set-ups, so a good level of fitness will be an advantage.
A Diploma in Customer Care or similar qualification or considerable customer care experience is essential with the ability to gain a First Aid at Work Certificate.
This is a casual position, so hours are not fixed. Shifts will vary and may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings to support the Museum’s programme.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
