The Role
We are currently seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting. As a member of the team, you'll also provide leadership and support to junior staff, helping to maintain high standards of care and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and care for children and young people.
* Lead by example, supporting junior staff and deputising in the absence of the Team Leader or Manager.
* Encourage positive behaviour, routines, and independence through therapeutic approaches.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
* Complete accurate documentation including care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports.
* Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and supervision.
* Engage in household duties and activities, including taking young people to appointments and outings.
Requirements
* A minimum of 1 year's experience working in a residential children's home.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and EBD.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (£60 per sleep-in).
* A full UK driving licence is essential.
