The Role: As Bid and Proposals Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification through to submission and continuous improvement. You will also lead and develop a dedicated proposals team, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Bid Writing and Proposal Quality Leading the writing, editing, and production of high-quality tender submissions and proposals. Developing clear and compelling win themes aligned to client priorities. Translating complex technical information into persuasive and engaging content. Ensuring all submissions are accurate, well-structured, on brand, and delivered on time. Bid Management and Process Managing the full bid lifecycle from launch through to submission and debrief. Implementing robust bid processes, including launch, review, and sign-off procedures. Maintaining bid programmes and pipeline trackers, providing updates to senior leadership. Conducting post-submission reviews to drive continuous improvement. Team Leadership and Development Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing proposals team. Providing coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to support professional growth. Identifying skills gaps and implementing development and training plans. Creating a collaborative and positive team environment focused on quality and accountability. Stakeholder Engagement and Business Development Working closely with operational, commercial, and senior teams to gather bid information. Building strong internal relationships to ensure the proposals function is well supported. Supporting pre-qualification submissions and expressions of interest. Contributing to wider business development strategy and opportunity identification. What Were Looking For: Essential Proven experience in a bid writing or proposals management role. Strong background within construction, property services, or a related sector. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce compelling submissions. Experience developing win themes and client-focused bid strategies. Previous experience leading and developing a team. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines. Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing constructive challenge. Desirable APMP qualification or equivalent. Experience working with public sector frameworks and tendering processes. Familiarity with PQQs and formal procurement routes such as Find a Tender. Experience improving bid systems, processes, or content libraries.
