Reporting to the Insurance Accounting Manager, the Technical Accounts Analyst is responsible for the technical accounting functions of Sirius Syndicate 1945, following established processes and procedures.
The Technical Accounts Analyst will ensure the completeness and accuracy of the technical accounts of Sirius International Managing Agency (SIMA) and Sirius Syndicate 1945 through timely and precise application of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process payments and allocate settlements onto the underwriting system to maintain accurate debtor information.
2. Monitor underwriters' estimates against amounts booked/received.
3. Assist the underwriting and claims teams with query resolution as required.
4. Reconcile Lloyds/UK Branch Outwards reinsurance settlements.
5. Investigate issues in the technical accounting process and recommend solutions.
6. Assist in collating audit information as needed.
7. Monitor aged debt, take appropriate actions, and prepare reports for management.
8. Participate in testing process changes in the underwriting system under IT guidance.
9. Produce weekly technical accounts control reports and review processes.
Technical Skills & Experience
* 2-5 years of accounting and/or financial operations in (re)insurance.
* Experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, especially in a global operation, is a merit.
* Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
* Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook.
* Proactive with responsibility and continuous improvement mindset in complex environments.
