Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting children’s learning? We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Classroom Assistant to join schools in the Swansea area from September 2025.
About the Role:
As a Classroom Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils and teachers, helping to deliver engaging lessons through the medium of Welsh. You’ll assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support teaching and learning through Welsh
Work with individual pupils or small groups
Promote the use of the Welsh language across the curriculum
Help with classroom set-up, organisation, and resources
Assist pupils with additional learning needs (if required)
Encourage a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere
What We’re Looking For:
Fluency in Welsh (spoken and written) – Essential
Experience working with children or young people
A warm, positive, and flexible attitude
Willingness to travel within a 30-minute radius of Swansea
A genuine interest in education and language development
An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
Education or childcare qualifications
Experience supporting ALN (Additional Learning Needs)
Familiarity with the Welsh Curriculum
