Camp War Eagle is a Christian Sports and Adventure camp for children and teens, ages 6-17, with an emphasis on those who are under-served. The camp is located in Rogers, Arkansas off of beautiful Beaver Lake and the War Eagle Cove. We serve approximately 6,500 children each summer between our overnight camp and three day-camps in town. We hire approximately 650 college students from all over the US to work as summer staff! We offer both half and full summer paid positions, as well as internships for majors that apply to our programming. Positions offered include In-Cabin Counselor, as well as specific skill-set roles in the areas of the Nature Center, Media, Store, Office, Barn, Lake, Craft Center, and nannying young children.
THE AMAZING CAMP WAR EAGLE IN-CABIN COUNSELOR POSITION IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF CAMP AND IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO LOVE, HAVE FUN WITH, AND LIVE WITH CAMPERS 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
We have 5 criteria we use to identify those we believe would be THE BEST counselors for our campers.
* Staff members who are positive, upbeat, wholesome, Christian role models
* Staff members who love kids unconditionally
* Staff members who desire to develop the heart of a servant and who are committed to hard work
* Staff members who possess a certain skill or who are willing to learn a new skill
* Staff members who are willing to have fun!!!
Other responsibilities:
* Directly responsible for 10-12 campers in a cabin, as well as other supervisory responsibilities for campers throughout the day
* Teaching in one or several areas of the Camp War Eagle program
* Coaching a team in sports competition every day
* Supervising an area of camp during Mish Mash (campers’ free time), as well as spending time with campers when not on duty
* Supervising activities during Special Events in the evening program, as well as participating in the Special Event activities with campers
* Leading a nightly cabin devotional provided by Camp War Eagle
