Lead the Platforms Powering Scotlandâs Digital Future. Weâre looking for a forward-thinking leader to run the platforms that underpin Scottish Waterâs digital transformation. As Digital Platforms Manager, youâll be responsible for the engineering, governance, and evolution of our cloud, integration, automation, and productivity platforms â enabling agile delivery, operational resilience, and sustainable innovation across the business. The role This is a pivotal role in shaping how we build, operate, and scale the digital foundations that support everything from smart infrastructure to AI-enabled services. Youâll lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with architecture, cyber, data, and delivery colleagues to ensure our platforms are secure, cost-effective, and built for the future. What youâll do The Digital Platforms Manager leads the design, delivery, and optimisation of Scottish Waterâs digital platforms, including Azure, M365, Power Platform, and our internal developer platform (IDP). The role ensures these platforms are secure, scalable, and engineered for value, supporting digital transformation across both IT and OT domains. Youâll own platform strategy, technical delivery, and team leadership â embedding DevOps, FinOps, and observability practices while enabling teams across the business to build safely and efficiently on modern, well-governed foundations. As Digital Platforms Manager, you will lead the development and operation of Azure landing zones, integration and automation platforms, M365, Power Platform CoE, and observability tooling. Youâll be responsible for building and maintaining golden paths, CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and platform guardrails to accelerate safe and scalable delivery. Your role will also involve embedding platform standards, security controls, and FinOps practices to ensure compliance, resilience, and value for money. Collaboration is key, as youâll partner with architecture, cyber, data, and delivery teams to align platform evolution with strategic priorities and business needs. Additionally, you will lead a team of engineers, developers, and specialists across cloud, integration, and low-code domains, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What youâll bring To excel in this role, you will need proven leadership experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or enterprise-scale cloud environments, along with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, and cloud-native services. Your background should include hands-on experience with integration technologies, automation tooling, and platform governance, as well as a strong understanding of platform security, compliance, and cost optimisation. A track record of building and leading high-performing technical teams, coupled with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, is essential. Ideally, you will also bring experience from utilities, energy, or regulated industries, and be familiar with M365 administration, Copilot enablement, and low-code governance. Certifications in Azure, Power Platform, or DevOps disciplines would be highly advantageous. The not-so-small print This is an M1 role in a salary range starting at £66,826 with potential flexibility depending on the candidate. There is also scope for salary progression based on performance.
