The role of a support worker includes visiting service users in their own homes or in other settings and offering practical support to enable them to live independently whilst offering emotional support in accordance with their individual support plans.
Your role is varied from day-to-day, for example one day you could be helping a service user to complete a housing benefit form or assist an anxious service user to visit the supermarket; the next day you could be assisting someone to set up a bank account or direct debit to pay their utility bills.
