Overview:
We seek an experienced Embedded Software Engineer focused on Control for Power Electronics, e-Machines, and Drives (PEMD) to support client projects and develop team capabilities.
Our Software, Control, and Applications group develops and validates complex control systems for advanced clean propulsion and energy systems, including xEV powertrains, power electronics, motors, and fuel cell systems. The role primarily involves embedded software development for power electronic systems such as electric machines and DCDC converters, with potential support for other technical areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop embedded software for Power Electronics, E-Machines, and Drives.
* Take technical accountability for software solutions, including requirements specification, device drivers, algorithms, implementation, calibration, and validation.
* Conduct software testing through Unit and Hardware-in-Loop methods.
* Interact directly with clients and suppliers on technical issues.
* Report technical status internally, focusing on delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Competencies and Experience
* Degree in Engineering, focused on Embedded Software, Control, Electrical, Electronics, or similar.
* Proficiency in C programming for microcontroller applications.
* Experience developing embedded software for power electronics, including complex device drivers, SPI Drivers, and high-frequency ADC/PWM peripherals.
* Experience with Infineon AURIX microcontrollers.
* Knowledge of AUTOSAR.
* Excellent English communication skills for interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
* Willingness to travel for customer meetings, on-site development, and site visits.
Desirable Competencies and Experience
* Fluency in model-based development languages, especially MATLAB-Simulink.
* Exposure to motor control theory and practice, including power electronics design, electric machine design, and multiphysics optimisation.
* Experience providing technical leadership in engineering projects.
* Knowledge of functional safety standards like ISO26262.
