About The Role
As a locum Consultant Psychiatrist, you’ll work within multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs. Your responsibilities may include:
* Conducting psychiatric assessments and reviews
* Leading treatment planning and clinical decision-making
* Supporting junior medical staff and MDTs
* Liaising with community services and external partners
The responsibilities of the post include assessing new referrals from GPs, inpatient wards, transfers from Home Treatment teams and internal referrals; providing assessments, diagnoses, and short- and long-term management plans. You will be required to work at St Mary's Lodge, in Leamington Spa. You will be supported by a medical secretary. You may provide supervision to a middle-grade Doctor as required.
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Section 12/Section 22 and Approved/Responsible Clinician status (or eligibility)
* Current DBS check or PVG check – or willingness to undergo one as part of registration
* Experience in adult mental health settings
* UK Right to Work
* Flexible, collaborative, patient-focused approach
Desirable
* CCT in General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of achieving it)
