About this Position:
A Technical Author – Parts Catalogue is required to join a leading luxury automotive brand on a temporary 5-year contract, based in Crewe with hybrid working. This role will be central to producing high-quality technical documentation that supports customers and technicians worldwide. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining Parts Catalogue Information, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.
Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain parts catalogues in line with product launches and model year updates.

Interpret Bill of Materials, Product Description Books, Technical Product Descriptions, Engineering Change documentation, and CAD data.

Ensure documentation meets internal standards, regulatory requirements, and brand guidelines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Planning, Legal, and Marketing.
*
Support Aftersales initiatives through clear communication and accurate technical content.
Experience Required:
*
Strong understanding of vehicle and part architecture, with proven experience creating technical documentation.
*
Proficiency in digital platforms, data management systems, and external publication/catalogue systems.
*
Experience using CATIA or a simple CAD tool to create illustrations.
*
Knowledge of automotive engineering, Aftersales practices, and VW Group systems.
*
Excellent content writing skills, with qualifications in English preferred.
*
Ability to organise technical content effectively, including images and text.

Essential understanding of automotive parts and retailer processes
